Marisa Giannasi is an artist, teacher and designer who travels the country capturing the unique characters of Britain’s beloved bookshops with beautiful ink and watercolour paintings. Her work is part of an ongoing project celebrating the invaluable role our bookshops and booksellers play in nurturing communities, promoting literacy and offering quiet moments of solace.
Architecturally trained, Marisa co-founded the internationally renowned woodworking workshop, Method Studio. She currently teaches at the Edinburgh College of Art, while advising on the role of entrepreneurialism within the education sector. She paints and writes from the top of an A-frame cabin she restored with her husband in the Scottish hills.
A growing collection of marisa’s bookshop prints are now available from her online shop, and she’s delighted to discuss commissions too. so if you have a project in mind, or if you’d like to recommend a bookshop, please reach out in an email or even send her a message on Instagram.
